Our U-space services were developed to guarantee a safe environment for drone operations. They are compliant with the European regulations and support multiple and recurrent drone missions, securing the access of UAS into the airspace.
It provides continuous information regarding drone location and trajectory during the flight, as well as the identity of the drone operator.
The system alerts drone operators of any temporary and permanent restriction, indicating the areas where drones can operate.
It receives and manages flight submissions, evaluating possible conflicts, in order to authorize or reject the mission.

We are witnessing a growing application of drones in the healthcare sector around the world. The COVID pandemic has accelerated their usage to transport lab samples to test sites, and vaccines to remote areas, which had proven a reliable and fast alternative of transportation.
Today drones can successfully deliver small medical devices, medicine, blood, and blood samples between medical facilities.
Governments are also adapting their regulations to support the usage of drones for medical purposes, promoting trial programs and inviting technology companies to be part of the projects.

The concept of U-Space is the outcome of an industrial and exploratory research done by the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking partnership. Thanks to the collaboration of Eurocontrol, EASA, Eurocae and over 50 organizations in the aviation industry, we can talk today about an airspace dedicated to drones.
Since 2019, several U-space services were progressively tested to evaluate the capabilities of the technology and determine the services required to secure drone missions. In January 2023, the deployment of the U-space started to become effective through the new regulations established by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), concerning U-space service providers and drone pilots to support safe drone operations.
To evaluate the readiness of the U-space services, several tests and demonstrations were carried out, such as medical delivery, emergency interventions and drone taxi.
Innov’ATM had participated in those demonstrations as the project leader for the Tactical Instrumental Deconfliction and In-flight Resolution (TINDAIR). This project tested advanced U-space services in a complex scenario, including strategic and conflict resolution for all airspace users as part of the Urban Air Mobility framework.
